Father + Daughter Love

Today is a very important day for the world! Don't worry you didn't forget a holiday, it is my dad's birthday! So in honor of him and all he does here are some photos of the main man in my life and some words of love for a guy who has done more than I will ever be able to repay him for.

I don't think I can describe in words how thankful I am for my dad. We have our differences and are too much alike sometimes, but without him I wouldn't be half the person I am today. He is always there for me, can me laugh at the drop of a hat and gives me the support and confidence I need when making big decisions. This guy right here is an incredible dad.

This picture is perfect, mainly because it depicts exactly what he looks like most of the time. The man loves to takes pictures and even started a photography business. Thanks to him I have embarrassing childhood/adulthood moments captured forever.

My years in college had ups and downs and a few not so proud moments but through it all this guy supported and encouraged me. There were a few times I had ZERO desire to finish but he told me it would all be worth it and it was!

This is my dad and Teresa. They were in London for a layover to South Africa on a mission trip. See not only he is an awesome dad and husband but a big fan of the man upstairs. He has a heart far bigger than many people know! He came back a better person after that trip and I think (if possible) his heart grew even bigger.

For anyone who doesn't know the man also loves to ride his Harley. It is his baby, sometimes I think he loves it more than me...not really! I do love that he has a love for traveling (thanks for passing that on) and has a desire to see the world still. I know I definitely got my love for the world and crazy ideas that I can see it all from him.

There are so many things I love and adore about this guy. He allows me to be me completely, even if that irritates his sometimes. He supports my crazy, sometimes impulsive decisions and never lets his feelings get in the way of telling me to go for whatever dream I want. He tells me to move if I want to move (even though I know he would miss me a lot) and that I must always follow my heart. He embraces my open-mindedness and my opinions even if they aren't my own.

I am proud to be his daughter and I realize more and more how lucky I am to have him!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!

Friendsgiving

I am all for the holidays. Once Thanksgiving gets close I am full blown holiday crazed. I decided a few weeks ago I wanted to have a Thanksgiving dinner with my group of friends. So with a ton of emails and some planning later we ended up having a fantastic "Friendsgiving" this past Sunday.

On Saturday Thomas and I went shopping for decorations, more so I shopped for decorations and he shopped for cooking supplies. We got supplies for our dishes the following day and made a plan to decorate on Sunday.

We decided to use my boss's hurricanes for the centerpieces and I got moss, cranberries and candles to put in the middle.

As a side note, cranberries taste awful. I don't know this from personal experience but from the faces Jeff and Thomas made I can gather they weren't delicious.

Thomas made turkey cake pops to go on the table and wrapped the napkins in leaves.

And this is my friend Thomas in all his Turkey Leg glory!

Mid Twenties

If you would have told my 16 year old self that I would look forward to turning another year older....I would have laughed in your face. Now-a-days I look forward to growing older, which is all subject to change at 30, get back to me then. Seriously, I am looking forward to this next year of my life. I have some really good feelings about this 26th year of life.

Now on to the celebrations! I rather enjoy LOVE my birthday! I start a countdown a month before the big day. My original plans were to go to Banner Elk, NC, sip wine, enjoy the cold weather and hang out with three awesome ladies. Well those plans came to a halt so instead two of my favorites came up from Athens, Kimmy and Anna, to spend the weekend and celebrate my happy day.

Friday was low-key with dinner and drinks. Saturday we went shopping and I picked up two goodies from J.Crew with my gift card from Anna.

After shopping we grabbed a late lunch and then went back to my apt to get ready. We had dinner at Basil (YUM) and went to Connollys for a few drinks afterwards. I had an absolute blast and so thankful for all my friends who came and celebrated my birthday with me. It was an amazing evening!

My grandmother made my tulle skirt for me and I could not love it more! The clutch was my birthday present from Kimmy.

Ladies meet my friend Jeff, he is single!

After we finished our night in Uptown, we headed back to my apartment to enjoy a piece of the cake Thomas made for my birthday! Please note not only was everything on this cake handmade but it was DELICIOUS.

Inside is a layer of chocolate and a layer of strawberry cake, buttercream frosting and chocolate covered strawberries on top.

Seriously, could not have asked for a better way to spend my birthday. To each and everyone that came, THANK YOU! You each made my day extra special and I so happy I have the best group of friends.

Completely MIA

MIA Much? Yes that would be me. I could list out excuses for why I haven't posted but truth be told it comes down to the fact that time is not my friend. I get to work before it is light out and get home after dark. Outfits pictures are REALLY hard to take in the dark. Also I have realized I am the worst at remembering to take pictures during random outings (I am working on this).

Over the past few weeks I have celebrated my birthday, which was far better than I can explain. I have a full post on that coming up. I also had a work trip last week that took me to West Palm Beach. It was warm but not hot and I got to play golf...it was a great work trip. Don't worry I attended plenty of work sessions while I was there too. I flew back Friday only to hop in a car and head down to Athens to watch my Dawgs take on the Mountaineers Saturday. If you follow me on instagram you already knew that. We handed it to them, which made my weekend extra awesome!

The view from my room at the PGA National Resort and Spa.

The view of the game from our seats! We had actual seats which was nice. My inability to purchase our first set of tickets paid of because these were better and much more comfortable.
